'Sup bruv, I'm LIKE Lank Amped OMG, So Epic, it's gonna be a Fat jol!

We all know fashion trends come and go, and that it is seen as the norm... But, have you noticed how we as individuals go through phases of random words or collections of words? Almost like a form of slang... Thanks to technology we have developed at such a rapid pace that it is no longer: "Send me a message", but "BBM me". These words create a form of acceptance and common interest...

I often wonder how these words start and find it amazing how they catch on, and before you know it, the stranger standing in line in front of you at the Spar is saying the word that you started using a few months ago...

A few of these slang words/ sayings include:
- "Lank"
- "Amped"
- "And he's LIKE and I'm LIKE"
- "OMG"
- "Sick"/ "Kiff"
- "Dis MAL" (Afrikaans) and "Mad" (English)
- "What's your buzz?"
- "What's Klappin?"
- "Stoked" or "Super stoked"
- "Off the hook"
- "Epic" and "Epic fail"
- "Awe"
- "Fat jol"
- "Hey Bruv"
- "Such a Murry"
- "Mooi"
- "That's so filth"
- "Konyn'tjie"
- "He klanks hey"
- " 'Sup?"

And one of the up-and-coming ones to listen out for... "That's so bread". So the next time you're standing in a queue, listen carefully to what the person in front of you is saying... You never know, it may be the next word to catch on to :)

Thanks to South African artists such as Jack Parow and Die Antwoord, we can make reference to their slang words and sayings...

Leave me a comment by adding your own "slang word"... It should be AWESOME!! :p
